La tradizione del grano comunitario “La Rascia”, (Facebook- Instagram Il Costume dell’Anima) una celebrazione che si rinnova da secoli ad ogni unione matrimoniale, rappresenta un momento di profonda connessione tra le famiglie e la storia del proprio territorio. In questa SPECIAL EDITION (alle porte del Corteo Storico e della Pesa degli Infanti di San Donato), vogliamo raccontarvi una storia che si perpetua anche tra le famiglie emigrate, unendo passato e presente.
Christian, originario di Longano, figlio di Berardino e Angela (cari amici), torna in estate nel paese d’origine dei nonni. Qui, l’amore per le tradizioni locali lo porta a voler condividere questa ricchezza culturale con la sua sposa inglese Sophie. I due decidono di sposarsi a Longano, e la comunità risponde con calore e generosità, donando ben 90 kg di cereali per arricchire il loro giorno speciale e augurare “progresso” alla nuova famiglia.
Sophie, affascinata dalle usanze locali e dall’accoglienza della comunità, si innamora non solo di Christian, ma anche di Longano e delle sue radici. Questo gesto di solidarietà non è solo un simbolo di unione matrimonio, ma rappresenta il legame indissolubile tra i cittadini e le tradizioni che continuano a vivere, anche lontano dalla patria.
Auguriamo a Christian e Sophie un futuro colmo di amore e accoglienza, proprio come le tradizioni del nostro paese insegnano. Gli auguri arrivano dal ‘Associazione “Il Costume dell’Anima” ma dall’intera comunità longanese, che continua a raccogliere e tramandare queste preziose testimonianze di vita e cultura, rinnovando l’impegno per la perpetuazione di storie che legano le generazioni. Che la tradizione del grano comunitario possa sempre fiorire, alimentando legami forti e duraturi!

Extra Edition: The Tradition of Community Wheat Embraces Europe
When “the good” is demonstrated through participation and connection.
The tradition of community wheat, “La Rascia” (Facebook-Instagram Il Costume dell’Anima), a celebration that has been renewed for centuries with each marriage, represents a moment of deep connection between families and the history of their territory. In this SPECIAL EDITION (on the eve of the Historical Parade and the Weighing of the Infants of San Donato), we want to tell you a story that continues even among emigrant families, bridging the past and the present.
Christian, originally from Longano, son of Berardino and Angela (dear friends), returns in summer to his grandparents’ hometown. Here, his love for local traditions leads him to want to share this cultural wealth with his English bride, Sophie. The two decide to get married in Longano, and the community responds warmly and generously, donating 90 kg of grains to enrich their special day and wish “prosperity” to the new family.
Sophie, enchanted by local customs and the warm welcome of the community, falls in love not only with Christian but also with Longano and its roots. This gesture of solidarity symbolizes not just marital union but represents the indissoluble bond between the citizens and the traditions that continue to thrive, even far from their homeland.
We wish Christian and Sophie a future filled with love and hospitality, just as the traditions of our country teach. Congratulations come from the Association “Il Costume dell’Anima” and from the entire Longano community, which continues to collect and pass down these precious testimonies of life and culture, renewing the commitment to perpetuate stories that connect generations. May the tradition of community wheat always flourish, nurturing strong and lasting bonds!
